  • It does get more expensive the more help you need. 
  • Home modifications and equipment might affect the value of your property.
  • Quality of care can vary

CARE HOME

Care homes are where residents live permanently at the accommodation. Care homes employ trained nursing and support staff who are always on hand to meet all your care needs.

PROS

  • Trained staff are always on hand. 
  • No need to worry about utility bills, meals and household chores
  • You’ll always have company. 
  • They can manage any medication you need to take.

CONS

  • It is more expensive. 
  • Quality of care can vary. 
  • All your belongings will need to fit in one room.
  • You might feel you’ve lost some of your independence. 
  • Pets might not be allowed
  • You might not enjoy the company of the other residents.
  • Family and friends can feel guilty.
