PRN Care lent our gazebo to a local barbers The Man Barber Shop on Linden Rd, Bognor Regis. They were doing charity haircuts on Christmas eve to raise money for a local lad in Littlehampton called Adrian Tomasz Wieclawski. PRN have also donated a raffle to prize to help them raise more funds.
Adrian was diagnosed with Paediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder. Which means that his immune system is attacking his own brain. The treatment is not available through the NHS and also the disease it’s not very known in UK meaning the family would need to cover the entire cost of his treatment at a private clinic in Ukraine. To cover the first stages of treatment, the family took out a bank loan along with help from friends and family.
In May 2021, during a follow on visit, the family were told that unfortunately the fight is still far from over. Although Adrian has shown some very good improvement, his treatment will need to continue, as his condition will only regress if they discontinue now.
The planed cost of the next round of treatment is estimated to be £40k The family are still trying to pay off debts which are close to 30k incurred to pay for the first stage of treatment, and the finances necessary to continue his treatment is beyond what they are able to put together.
The family have been working the charity Tree of Hope to help raise money for Adrian’s treatment in the Ukraine. If you would like to find out more or make a donation please click the link
